Budget airline easyJet has announced September 5th is expected to be its busiest day of the year to date.
The airline predicts to carry over 210,000 passengers on a record number of flights with 1451 planes taking to the skies worldwide over the 24-hour period.
Sophie Dekkers, easyJet's UK director, said: "Our busiest day comes shortly after our busiest August ever with 8.4 per cent more passengers travelling with us this August compared to last. Planes flew more than 94 per cent full during the month which is the highest ever load factor recorded by the airline."
The record breaking day comes in light of new statistics released by easyJet and Ryanair reporting a boost in the number of passengers travelling on both airlines throughout the month of August.
More that 6.61 million people flew with easyJet last month and Ryanair saw 9.4 million passengers use the airline throughout August.
Both airlines ended the month of a high with an increase in year-on-year figures at an all-time high.
