A new bike rental scheme has been launched in Birmingham city centre, offering transport for commuters, residents and businesses.
After registering for the scheme, users are able to rent one of 20 Brompton folding bikes from Birmingham Moor Street Station. Docking points are also to be provided at Snow Hill and New Street stations, the BBC reports.
The £140,000 project was set up by Centro, the city council and train operator London Midland, emulating other projects currently running across the UK.
Rental costs £2.50 a day for regular users or £5 for occasional users. Following their online registration for the scheme, users are issued with a PIN code that enables them to access the bikes.
Councillor Lisa Trickett said: "The arrival of the Brompton Docks to Birmingham underlines the importance we are now placing on cycling being a key part of the transport mix in the city."
