A new package of investment has been unveiled by the government to improve transport links in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The £10 million boost will improve links between the islands and the mainland, upgrade roads and carry out port repairs.
Some £7.3 million has been pledged to enhance harbour infrastructure at both St Mary’s and Penzance, while £1.8 million will repair and resurface public roads on the islands.
Improvements to the roads are to be carried out at the same time as the isles' runway is resurfaced, lowering costs for the taxpayer.
Transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin said: "This funding will make a huge difference to the people of Scilly and also to visitors to the island, so vital to the local economy."
Around £1.7 million has also been pledged to help repair harbours damaged by the harsh winter weather, with most of the money going towards small ports and harbours in Devon and Cornwall.
