Logistics specialist Rhenus UK has appointed a number of new starters as part of a relaunched graduate programme designed to invest in the future of the business.
Over the next two years, the graduates will experience an introduction to five divisions within Rhenus UK as part of the company’s placement programme, including Transport (Road, Air & Ocean and Supply Chain), High Tech, Home Delivery and Customs.
This training will provide the new starters with a strong grounding in supply chain planning, European and global freight movements, warehouse management, health and safety, customs and developing the knowledge and experience needed to underpin a successful future career in logistics management.
Each graduate will be allocated a mentor to guide them through their first two years at Rhenus UK, while also benefiting from key placement support contacts in each location.
Gary Dodsworth, UK Road Director, Rhenus Logistics, said: “As an industry, we need to be planning ahead and ensuring that we have a knowledgeable, innovative workforce in place to face both the challenges and the opportunities of the future, especially in the current circumstances.
“Over the past 18 months, the freight sector has had to quickly adapt to two seismic events – COVID-19 and Brexit.
“This is reflected in the launch of our dedicated Customs Service department, developed in response to our customers’ need for further support, and our graduates will gain the opportunity to work in this exciting new part of the business!”
