Missed stops on public transport could become a thing of the past thanks to a new update made to Google Now.
Users of the service will be alerted when they are about to reach their destination by the feature that allows them to program in commonly frequented places such as home, work and other destinations.
According to Android Police, the alarm can be tapped once to enable it and again to disable it, if necessary. It knows when and approximately where you should disembark.
Recently, Google announced plans to integrate all public transport data from across the UK into its Google Maps application.
Departure times and routes for buses, ferries, trains and trams have been included, with 17,000 different routes and schedules from nearly 1,500 different transport operators.
Much of the data had already been available for London and the south-east but data was lacking for other parts of the country, such as Wales, the Midlands and the north.
