Sponsored news: Print and apply systems could transform your labelling process

31 October 2023/Categories: Logistics & Supply Chain

Transportation and warehousing is said to have the third-highest automation potential of any sector. Automatic labelling systems enable logistics operators to replace manual workflows for better efficiency, reduce high costs of human errors, and increase their 24/7 productivity.

The print and apply market is predicted to grow 2.1% between 2023 and 2030 and new product innovations like TSC Printronix Auto ID’s 6-inch PEX-2000 print engine were seen as real opportunities for market expansion.

In September 2023, a 4-inch version of the PEX-2000 was launched, which promised smaller, faster, greener, and easier integration for industrial labelling. Print engines are essential in print and apply operations and design of the new 4-inch PEX-2000 was carefully considered for both system integrators and users. It:

  • Is 14% smaller at the rear meaning easier integration
  • Has adjustable peel-off module enabling systems integrators to set label feed-out to preferred angles (-3º to -18º).
  • Offers precision printing on labels as small as 5mm
  • Has new option to reduce ribbon waste by 30-80%
  • Super-fast print speed scales up any print and apply label application

Covid-19 propelled automation in T&L and TSC Printronix Auto ID print engines enabled one customer to print 30,000 more labels a day to meet  expanding e-commerce orders. Print and apply systems are suited to high volume applications on labels, cases, pallets, etc. and help mitigate impacts of issues like labour shortages and rising costs.
