Network Rail has set its sights on winning new consultancy contracts in New Zealand.
The organisation has appointed Philip Chalk as director of asset management and maintenance, who will be tasked with expanding the firm's business in the country, as well as neighbouring Australia. He has previously worked in Singapore, Malaysia and Britain.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Chalk stated: "Network Rail has a well-established asset management team in the UK and my aim will be to extend the breadth and depth of the services that we offer our clients in Australasia."
The new arrival will also be responsible for advising clients on changes associated with transforming into strong asset management organisations, as well as other areas of the practice.
General manager of Australia and New Zealand for Network Rail Consulting, Peter Koning, hailed the announcement as an exciting development for the business. He claimed Mr Chalk brought with him a wealth of experience and will be 'an asset to the company'.
