Q1: What is the objective of this survey?
The Trader Readiness survey has been developed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to assess trader awareness of changes to import controls for SPS goods and trader readiness for these implementations of these changes from January 2023 onwards.
Q2: How will taking part in this survey support trader readiness? (Why are we doing this survey?)
Your responses will help determine if we need to do more to ensure you are informed and on track to be ready by 31 January 2024. If the results of the survey inform us that traders are not feeling confident in a specific area of change, we will be able to support traders with targeted communication and further guidance. Upon completion of the survey, you will also be directed to the latest guidance on changes to import controls for SPS goods.
Q3: Will my answers be anonymous?
The trader readiness survey has been designed to be fully anonymous. We will collect high level information relating to your organisations demographics (including country or size of organisation) and trade related information (including commodities traded and sectors) however we will not be collecting any personal information or organisation identifying information.
Q4: Who is this survey for?
This survey is designed to be undertaken for EU, RoW exporters of animals, animal products, plants and plant products – including some food exporters and GB importers impacted by the changes coming through the Border Target Operating Model.
Q5: How long is the survey?
The survey has been designed to take no longer than 10 minutes.
Q6: Do we have to complete the survey on computer?
