Aspire, a charitable careers foundation within CILT(UK) is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Co-chairs, Sue Byrne and Dan Myers.
Both were officially announced as Co-Chairs at this year’s Institute Annual Lunch on December 1.
Sue Byrne has been involved with the institute since she was a learner, first winning Student of the Year Award and also being presented an award by HRH The Princess Royal. Sue completed her CPC qualification at 21 and become a transport and fleet manager qualifying in a class where she was the only female.
Today, Sue is currently the VP Operations EMEA for SharkNinja and has an extensive and impressive background in the logistics industry.
Sue said: “I have volunteered to work with Aspire because in my career I have loved doing things that have brought about change and improved lives. I feel my skills and passion for development and training, and making that accessible for all in our industry can really make a difference through Aspire.”
Dan Myers, Managing Director at XPO Logistics, started his career after landing a graduate role within the logistics industry in the early 2000s and now has 26 years within the industry.
Dan said: “Aspire is a charity that gives something back, it makes a difference to people’s lives through supporting their personal development.
“As a “product” of our industry I know and appreciate the value of personal professional development and I hope that my experience can help Aspire build on the solid foundation the team have created.”
CILT UK’s Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management, Bethany Windsor said: “All at CILT(UK) are delighted that Sue and Dan have joined Aspire as Co-Chairs.
“Their knowledge of, and passion for, the profession will see Aspire evolve to further support those wanting to step into, or step up in, the sector.
