Logistics company XPO has been selected as the new operator of cereal brand Weetabix's main UK warehouses at Burton Latimer and Corby.
XPO will run Weetabix's multi-site warehousing operation in Northamptonshire. Around 200 current Weetabix employees at the facilities will transfer over to XPO.
The partnership aims to improve automation and drive sustainable efficiencies across Weetabix's supply chain while maintaining customer service levels.
Dan Myers, Managing Director – UK and Ireland, XPO Logistics, said: “Weetabix is an iconic brand and a company with strong people values, something we share at XPO. Together we will continue to develop the supply chain roadmap and future warehousing strategy. The future is genuinely exciting, and working with Weetabix and our team, I look forward to seeing the delivery of our ambitious plans.”
XPO said it will develop new systems to optimise operations at the sites. A focus will also be placed on enhancing employee satisfaction.
In addition to domestic warehousing, XPO will manage Weetabix's global freight forwarding needs. The company said its business intelligence tools will bring greater visibility to site operations.
Richard Spaughton, Head of Supply Chain, Weetabix, said: “We chose XPO as they clearly share our ethos regarding sustainable efficiencies, how we value our people and prioritising the customer. We are excited to move together into the next phase of our warehouse operations with XPO.”
