A Brighton shopping centre is to pilot a two-hour delivery service.
The Churchills Square mall will launch the scheme on April 10th, allowing customers to pick a time slot for delivery of their shopping and be able to track it online. Visitors living within a ten-mile radius of the centre will have access to the service, meaning the trial will benefit around 367,000 people.
Deliveries will be coordinated by CitySprint and Standard Life Investments and will run for a period of two weeks during the mall's busiest periods from Thursdays to Sundays. The pilot will be the first of its kind in Britain.
Ed Jenkins, head of UK retail at Standard Life Investments, commented: "The nature of retailing is changing which is why we're constantly looking for new ideas to improve the experience of shoppers across our portfolio of centres."
Meanwhile, Patrick Gallagher, chief executive of CitySprint, stated the scheme would be able to deliver even more convenience and flexibility to shoppers visiting Churchills Square.
