DX Group announce reopening of East Grinstead depot

19 March 2024/Categories: Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain

DX Group has announced the expansion of its Freight division with the reopening of the East Grinstead depot. The reopened depot located on Imberhorne Lane is 14,000 sq ft with a purpose-built cross dock.

It has been reopened to accommodate the continued growth in the DX Freight 1-Man division, which specialises in parcel freight and in particular awkward-to-handle freight (irregular dimension and weight (“IDW”) items.

This depot provides additional capacity in the area, and will improve operational efficiencies, reduce stem mileage, carbon emissions and enhance customer service levels, the Group says.

The company said DX Freight operation remains a key area of growth for the Group and further capital investment is planned over the remainder of the year to support this.

Paul Ibbetson, Chief Executive Officer of DX Group commented: “We are delighted to have reopened the East Grinstead depot. It will provide our Freight operations with greater capacity and increase capability in the area. It also helps to make us more efficient and reduces our stem mileage, which in turn will lower our overall carbon emissions. We continue to focus on setting market-leading service standards.

“We have invested significantly in our depot network over the past few years and will continue this programme across the Group, including IT, vehicles and equipment.”
