UK air traffic provider Nats has signed a new deal to deliver refresher training courses.
The organisation will conduct a total of 16 programmes in conjunction with the Romanian Air traffic Services Administration (ROMATSA). The agreement will see 96 delegates visit Nats' training facility over the next two years.
Designed to promote alternative thinking and develop different controlling techniques, the area and approach courses will reinforce the basics of the profession. This is because operatives are now having to intervene less and less in the flying process as a result of new technologies.
Paul Campbell, European and North African business development manager, commented: "Our ongoing relationship with ROMATSA has gone from strength to strength and we're delighted to be providing further training for their controllers."
The new announcement comes as the partnership between the two organisations celebrates its tenth anniversary. It is hoped regular Flight Information Service function training will also be able to take place, both in Bucharest and at Nats' training centre in the UK.
