The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has issued a 50-day ultimatum to the organisers of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
In what is now the organisation's third attempt at seeking clarification as to what extent the event will affect the local logistics industry, bosses have been given the deadline of May 13th to provide suitable information.
FTA officials claimed the lack of detail could have serious consequences on freight companies, which will need to plan for any potential changes to deliveries and service patterns. In addition, it stated no word has been given on possible road closures or travel restrictions that may be put in place as a result of the Games.
Chris McRae, head of policy for Scotland at the freight organisation, commented: "The sooner FTA can get this information, the sooner we can help our logistics members plan around the Games and the sooner they can help their customers."
He added with the event due to begin on July 23rd, preparations for freight deliveries are now far behind those made for the London Olympics in 2012.
