A free AI training programme is helping professionals explore the benefits and opportunities of artificial intelligence in their operations. Delivered by Trilateral Research as part of the Innovate UK BridgeAI programme, the initiative is designed to support the UK’s transport, logistics and warehousing industries to understand, adopt, and scale responsible AI solutions.

AI is already transforming the industry. From automating routine processes to improving predictive maintenance, route planning, demand forecasting and warehouse operations, AI has the potential to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enable faster, more reliable decision-making. Yet many organisations across the sector are struggling with where to start - or how to turn interest in AI into a credible, scalable business case.

To help address this gap, the BridgeAI training programme offers a practical entry point for organisations ready to explore AI. Trilateral Research, a UK and Ireland-based organisation specialising in responsible AI, has created a series of free, expert-led webinars to help professionals cut through the complexity and build the knowledge and confidence needed to make AI work for them.

The four-part training series is open to anyone working in transport, logistics or warehousing, particularly those exploring digital transformation, innovation or operational efficiency. Each module tackles a core aspect of AI adoption, from understanding the fundamentals through to responsible implementation:

  • AI Strategy: Making the Business Case for Adoption
  • AI Fundamentals: Building a Strong Foundation
  • AI Transformation: Practical Steps for Implementation
  • AI Responsibility: Ethics, Compliance and Risk Management

The sessions are designed to be accessible, jargon-free, and focused on real-world relevance. Attendees will learn how to identify genuine AI opportunities, build a strong business case, communicate value to stakeholders, and navigate the common challenges that can derail implementation.

Trilateral Research has designed the training to respond to real concerns in the sector. According to research underpinning the BridgeAI programme, fewer than one in five UK transport and logistics companies currently use AI, and many cite a lack of technical understanding, skills and confidence as key barriers. Cost, scale, and legacy systems are also significant concerns.

The sessions are already attracting interest from transport providers, logistics operators, supply chain managers, fleet directors, and technology teams across the UK. Delivered live by AI and sector specialists, each module includes real-world examples, expert Q&A, and follow-up materials to support learning and application.

Trilateral Research’s involvement in BridgeAI builds on its wider work to support ethical, human-centred innovation in emerging technologies. With a long track record of supporting the public and private sector on responsible AI, data governance and digital transformation, Trilateral aims to make powerful technologies accessible and usable to those who need them most.
