Find out what Membership means to Aamanda and how upgrading her membership opened doors for her.

What motivated you to upgrade your CILT(UK) membership to FCILT?

For me, the upgrade was about professional recognition and demonstrating my commitment to continuous development. I wanted my experience and expertise to be formally acknowledged at a higher level, and I saw upgrading as a natural step in my career journey. It also opened doors to more senior networks and opportunities to contribute to the profession.

What value have you gained, or are hoping to gain, since upgrading your membership?

Upgrading has already enhanced my credibility within the industry — it’s a respected mark of achievement that sets you apart. I’ve connected with more senior professionals, gained access to insights and best practices through the Institute, and I’m confident it will continue to support my career progression and professional growth.

Being part of CILT and progressing through the various memberships has given me various opportunities to feature in the Focus magazine on multiple occasions including 35 under 35, be a judge on CILT judging panel for 2025 and encouraged me to take the leap I have always wanted to make in beginning my studies to complete a Masters in Logistics in Supply Chain through the University of Hull.

What does your upgraded membership mean to you?

Professionally, it’s a recognition of the hard work, knowledge, and experience I’ve developed over the years — a tangible milestone in my career. Personally, it’s a source of pride and motivation; it reminds me of how far I’ve come and inspires me to keep contributing to the profession and mentoring others coming up through the ranks.

Would you recommend a membership upgrade to others?

Absolutely. Upgrading your membership signals to employers, colleagues, and clients that you take your professional development seriously and that you meet recognised industry standards. It can open up new career opportunities, expand your network, and help you stand out in a competitive market.
