The building has been specially designed to incorporate Crossrail, London Underground, National Rail and Hammersmith and City Line services. Improvements will also be made to the front of the new Tube station and along to London Street and St Mary's Hospital.
Crossrail's land and property director Ian Lindsay commented: "This development will be a huge boost to regeneration in the area and a further phase in the renaissance of Paddington as a major commercial location."
Over three million sq ft of over-site development of office, retail and residential space is planned as part of the project. So far, one million sq ft of this has been approved, including Bond Street West and Tottenham Court Road Station.
