London Overground achieves high passenger satisfaction rating

22 January 2014/Categories: Industry News

London Overground has scored highly in the latest passenger satisfaction survey.

Transport for London's (TfL) above-ground system has come ahead of regional and national averages in the poll conducted in the autumn. It also was the most punctual train operator for the month of December, with 96 per cent of services arriving on time.

Overall, the network received an 89 per cent satisfaction rating in the poll carried out by Passenger Focus. This comes ahead of the 82 per cent achieved by the London and south-east regions and the national average of 83 per cent.

TfL's director of rail Jonathan Fox commented: "There is always room for improvement but London Overground has once again demonstrated the benefits of continuous investment in improvements that our passengers tell us they want."

Network Rail's public performance measure also rated London Overground highly, as the network came top for the month of December. This was in spite of the severe travel disruption caused by adverse weather conditions over the Christmas period.
