The British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced DHL as its logistics partner in Sochi.
The company will be responsible for moving over eight tonnes of supplies from Stockport to the Olympic village. The cargo will be transported by air and sea, over a distance of almost 5,500 miles in readiness for the Winter Games.
Additionally, DHL is set to play an important part during the kitting out week, where Team GB athletes will be provided with their equipment for the first time.
Phil Couchman, chief executive officer of DHL Express in the UK and Ireland, said: "This is a complex, large-scale operation and we'll do whatever it takes to ensure the athletes have everything they need for a successful Games."
The announcement marks another significant partnership for the logistics firm, just days after revealing it is joining forces with Cirque du Soleil in a major operation to support them on tour.
