DHL has announced it is joining forces with Cirque du Soleil.
The agreement will see it work alongside the circus company as its official worldwide logistics partner, providing support on its global live shows. It will also assist Cirque's corporate headquarters in Montreal.
DHL's main tasks will involve the set up and tear down of touring shows and transporting the equipment between venues, using air, land and sea transport, as well as clearing customs. It has revealed that a single big top show involves the deployment of up to 80 freight containers.
In addition, the logistics provider will also support the small-scale operations of its new partner, such as merchandise distribution and warehouse management.
Finn Taylor, senior vice-president of touring shows at Cirque, said: "This is a fantastic alliance for us, marrying two beloved brands known for their commitment to excellence in their respective fields."
The allegiance will also see the two companies engage in joint branding and marketing activities.
