Outsourcing firm Capita has signed a £145 million deal to oversee congestion charges.
The deal, which will also see the company look after the low emission zone and traffic enforcement notice processing schemes, will run for five years.
Although the new contract does not come into effect until 2015, there will be a period of implementation due to begin later this year. If Capita's tenure is successful, Transport for London has the option of extending the contract for another five years.
Andy Parker, Capita deputy chief executive, said: "The experience we have across the Group means that we are well equipped to deliver these schemes."
Capita designed and developed the technology for the congestion charge scheme and were in charge of operations when it was first introduced in 2003, before losing the contract to IBM in 2009.
The company also runs other services for the government, including pension schemes for the Ministry of Defence.
