Capacity at a TNT site in London has been increased by over 50 per cent, thanks to an investment of £4.3 million.
The company’s Park Royal depot near Wembley has been boosted with the addition of 15 extra loading bays and over 1,200 sq m of warehouse and vehicle yard space. It is intended that the investment will both increase efficiency and allow orders and consignments to be processed more quickly.
The expansion is part of its global Deliver! initiative which the delivery firm hopes will help improve customer service and infrastructure throughout its entire network.
Managing director at TNT Express UK and Ireland Alistair Cochrane said: “This expansion demonstrates our on-going commitment to investing in our infrastructure to deliver direct benefits to our customers via more flexible, responsive and efficient services.”
The site has handled around 40,000 items per week, servicing customers all over the capital. More services are also planned to be routed to the depot in an effort to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
