Boris Johnson to gauge views on future Euston development

07 August 2013/Categories: Industry News

Boris Johnson wants to hear from local residents and businesses that will be affected by the future redevelopment of Euston railway station.

The London mayor pointed towards the Euston Area Plan, which has been put together by Greater London Authority, Transport for London and Camden Council with the intention of giving the public an idea of what the future holds for this busy part of the city.

London's transport network will look very different in 20 to 30 years' time, as major projects like Crossrail, Crossrail 2 and High Speed 2 (HS2) take shape.

Mr Johnson thinks the redevelopment of Euston could unlock untold economic benefits for the whole area and he is keen to see what the locals would like to happen.

"With the potential to create thousands of jobs, new homes and an important new transport hub, it's vitally important that everyone has their say," he remarked.

The mayor has previously pledged his support for HS2 - which will provide fast access from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds - but feels the current plans still need to be tweaked.
