Bosses at WP Carey have confirmed the company has completed the acquisition of a large distribution centre in Poland from a fund managed by Invesco Real Estate.
The 83,325 sq m facility is based in Poznan and is currently leased by clothing retailer H&M. The famous store operates in 48 different countries and the Polish site forms a crucial part of its European supply chain.
Commenting on the €64 million (£55.3 million) takeover, managing director at WP Carey Jeffrey Lefleur said the organisation was attracted to the income from the long-term lease with the garment merchant.
"The acquisition marks our fourth European transaction this year overall, bringing total year-to-date investment in Europe to approximately €166 million," he commented.
A recent study by Fast Market Research showed the future is bright for Poland's logistics industry, with air cargo tonnage predicted to rise by 3.1 per cent in 2013 when compared with last year.
Additionally, traffic at the thriving port of Gdansk is expected to increase by 8.5 per cent this year.
