Bosses at online fashion retailer ASOS have unveiled plans to extend the company's Barnsley-based distribution centre by 25 per cent by 2014.
The company has been going from strength to strength and is benefiting from the increasing popularity of internet shopping in the UK.
According to Logistics Manager, the 530,000 sq ft site in South Yorkshire needs to be extended if the firm is to reach its £1 billion sales target in 2015.
"Following the recent reductions in average selling price per unit, approval has been gained to extend our Barnsley site by 25 per cent by 2014," an ASOS representative was quoted as saying.
In addition to this, the business is looking to boost its operations in China and Russia - both of which are proving to be important international markets.
The digital boom has revolutionised the retail sector in the UK and there has never been a greater need for sizeable warehouses and distribution centres.
