Peel Ports has kicked off its recruitment drive to staff its Liverpool2 expansion in the UK.
The first phase of recruitment will see an extra 90 staff taken on, the vast majority of which will be created in Liverpool to increase the size of the workforce at the port.
In all, 500 jobs will be created by the construction of the new £300m deep water container terminal, with roles for port operators, electricians, project managers, planners, marine officers, IT staff, sales executives, and in finance and management.
A further 5,000 indirect jobs will be created in the local supply chain, according to Peel Ports.
Those interested in jobs can register their details via Peel Ports’ careers site.
Liverpool2 will double the port's capacity to 1.5m teu when it opens in the second hand of the year.
