Logistics Capital Partners: A major new player in European Logistics Real Estate

22 April 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain

A new industrial real estate business, Logistics Capital Partners (the Group) was launched on Wednesday (23rd June).  Logistics Capital Partners is a pan European logistics specialist, with extensive development and investment capabilities, working on behalf of several of the main occupiers in Europe.

The Group has been established by James Markby and Kristof Verstraeten. James was formerly Head of CBRE’s European Industrial & Logistics Investment team; Kristof joins from Goodman Real Estate where he was Commercial Director of Europe, leading Goodman’s development, asset management and transaction teams across 11 European countries.

Logistics Capital Partners specialises in Logistics Real Estate, Development, Project Management, Asset Management and Strategic Real Estate Investment. Based in London and Belgium, the Group will operate across the UK and Continental Europe.

Logistics Capital Partners offers dedicated logistics expertise and a strong occupier focus, combined with access to global capital providers, to deliver a leading pan European real estate business.

2014 was an exceptional 12 month period: European logistics property investment volumes increased by a third to more than €20bn in the 12 months to the end of September 2014.

2015 looks set to be another very strong year. Ecommerce is fuelling a boom in logistics property investment in Europe, as retailers try to adapt to changing consumer demands, and recent industry research suggests that more investors are looking to increase their allocations to industrial and logistics assets across the region this year.[1]

James Markby, Managing Director of Logistics Capital Partners, commented:

'Kristof and I have have identified a real opportunity: increasingly, we are being asked by occupiers for an alternative way of delivering and managing their new buildings efficiently; at the same time we are being asked by sophisticated global capital for a more efficient and aligned way of investing in the sector.'

'Couple these needs with natural growth in the sector, and Logistics Capital Partners is perfectly placed to be the dedicated long term, specialist partner of choice, and to deliver some interesting performance benefits. We have a clear understanding of their various needs, the sector’s changing dynamics, strong personal track records, professional relationships and complementary skills to deliver across the main markets.'

'As we launch the Group, we are particularly interested in hearing from the managers of logistics companies across Europe who are looking for a new partner and an innovative model to deliver their requirements.'
