Food manufacturer Heinz has announced the renewal of its contract with Wincanton for the provision of transport, warehouse and repack operations.
These services will continue to run from the Heinz National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Wigan - and the contract renewal runs through to 2019, which will take the relationship between the two companies past the 20 year milestone.
Wincanton handles an estimated 35,000 loads, which is the equivalent of over 90 million cases a year for despatch and delivery all over the UK.
Order management and transport is also provided to Heinz Ireland by Wincanton, which sees the firm take responsibility for inbound transport of raw materials.
Chief executive of Wincanton Eric Born said: "We are proud and delighted to extend our partnership with Heinz, and are now firmly focused on looking at future innovations that we can implement to add further value to their business."
