Traffic management company Amberon has been appointed to manage Fleet Service Great Britain's (FSGB's) UK fleet.
Under the terms of the contract, FSGB will handle out-of-hours calls for Amberon, while also carrying out a three-month maintenance management pilot, Logistics Manager reports.
Head of sales at FSGB Marcus Bray said the decision to launch a pilot came after the appointment of Amberon.
"Amberon was the first company to use our out-of-hours service and our professionalism in delivering that solution led the company to instigate the maintenance management pilot," he commented.
Amberon supplies temporary traffic from 17 depots across England and Wales, all of which offer coverage for clients in Scotland, the Channel Islands, Isle of Wight and Northern Ireland.
Out-of-hours calls and fleet management was previously managed in-house, however Amberon has sought an external provider so as to benefit from additional knowledge and expertise while it continues to expand.
