The Hitachi Rail Europe new offices, accommodating 25 employees in the first instance and up to 50 at full capacity, were officially opened on May 5, 2015. The new offices are at 500 Avebury Boulevard, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire MK9 2BE.
Welcoming the opening, Keith Jordan, Managing Director, Hitachi Rail Europe, said:
“Hitachi Rail Europe is continuing to invest in the UK, and the opening of our new office in Milton Keynes is yet another example of our determination to be a major player in the UK rail sector.”
Based in the new office in Milton Keynes will be:
- The project team working on the delivery of the AT200 commuter trains for Abellio’s ScotRail franchise; and
- The Learning and Development division of Hitachi Rail Europe.
Opening an office in Milton Keynes office will allow Hitachi Rail Europe to be closer to one of its key customers, Network Rail, working together to develop skills in signalling, Traffic Management and the Digital Railway .
Keith went on to say: “Milton Keynes is a strategic geographical location with easy commuting from the South and the North of the country. Milton Keynes is home to many growing international organisations and we look forward to being an inclusive member of the business community in this region. Having offices in Milton Keynes is a key part of our ongoing strategy to provide more job opportunities here in the UK.”
In summing up Keith ended by saying; “A number of key roles at the Milton Keynes office have already been filled but we are always looking for experienced individuals to join the Hitachi team. In particular we are looking to add to our engineering capability working out of various locations in the UK and at our Head Office in London.
