A new 500,000 sq ft hub has been opened in Somaglia, Italy by Ceva Logistics.
The firm, which offers specialised asset recovery services and retail fixtures in addition to logistics solutions, specified that the site will be dedicated to the warehousing, handling and cross docking of products in the tyre sector, Logistics Manager reports.
Dubbed TireCity, the site is the fourth sector-specific hub Ceva has opened in the European country.
It joins the other hubs that are dedicated to publishing, healthcare and electronics, respectively.
Managing director for Italy at Ceva Giuseppe Chiellino emphasised the fact that the new opening represents a part of his firm's ongoing commitment to expansion.
"This hub is the beginning of a strategic course of growth in the automotive sector in Italy that starts from tyres as a key and vital element for vehicles," he remarked, adding that industrial and agricultural vehicles will be among those catered for.
