IDI Gazeley has applied for planning permission to build a new one million sq ft distribution centre to service the DHL Supply Chain.
The new site will become part of the existing complex at Magna Park in Leicestershire - IDI Gazeley's flagship logistics park - Logistics Manager reports.
In the application to Harborough District Council, it is pointed out that four separate distribution facilities are already operated by DHL Supply Chain at the site, employing around 700 people.
Planning permission was also recently submitted by IDI Gazeley for a 17,180 sq m speculative warehouse at Magna Park.
However, there is not enough land within the park to fulfill the requirements of the expansion, which is why permission is required.
An estimated 1,230 full time equivalent jobs are expected to be created by the development.
