Revised plans see 265,000 sq ft rail hub move forward

09 July 2015/Categories: Industry News

Harworth Estates has unveiled its plans for a low-density rail hub in north Warwickshire, which will be situated at the former Daw Mill Colliery.

These represent the second revision to the planning application for the regeneration of Daw Mill, taking into account the views of community groups, local residents and councillors.

Although the planned size of the overall built development has been reduced by nearly two-thirds, it still covers 265,000 sq ft.

Proposed traffic to and from the site has also been cut, with HGV movements down to around 50 per day.

Chief executive of Harworth Estates Owen Michaelson said his firm has always promised the scheme will be a viable employment-led scheme.

"A number of rail-related occupiers have already expressed an interest in Daw Mill without the site being formally marketed, reflecting the lack of existing rail-connected space in the West Midlands," he commented.
