In 2014, DHL Supply Chain saw its UK operating profit more than doubled, according to the firm's latest annual results.
For the year to December 31st, operating profit rose to £88.7 million - considerably higher than the corresponding figure of £37.3 million taken in 2013.
Turnover in the UK was £4.13 billion – up from £3.85bn in 2013. Pre-tax profit for 2014 was £91.7 million - again, more than double 2013's figure, which was £40.9 million.
Underlying business performance in the UK was described as strong, as any areas of low business were offset by business renewals elsewhere, leading to turnover growth of seven per cent.
"The performance in the retail, automotive and life sciences sector was particularly strong during 2014," DHL Supply Chain stated.
