thetrainline.com Rebrands Itself to Trainline

thetrainline.com has rebranded itself to reflect the rapid growth of mobile and mobile ticket sales. Trainline has recognised that there is a massive growth in the UK with more passengers buying train tickets online and through mobile. The brand continues to invest in its innovative customer mobile experience.

Trainline aims to make traveling easier for passengers and to help them travel smarter. Buying tickets online and advanced means customers save money on their travel, it also allows them to receive continuous real time updates.

Trainline's CEO, Clare Gilmartin, has said: “Trainline has been changing with our customers but our brand has not reflected that. Our mission is to help people travel smarter, and by using their phones they can enjoy the advantages of saving money by buying in advance and ensuring they have real time travel updates during their journey. It naturally followed that we change our brand look and feel to meet our customers’ expectations. We have changed our name from “thetrainline.com” to the simpler ‘Trainline’.  It represents a host of new features that’ll make train travel even smarter for our customers.”

A new website and app will be launched across August. A new TV campaign will be aired in September to get the idea of "Smarter Journeys" across to customers.
