Two free supply chain reports from Gartner will be made available to all respondents and two respondents, drawn at random, will win a ticket each to The CILT Annual Awards Dinner 2015
For the first time, CILT has partnered with the researchers at Gartner to take a deep look at supply chain practice and technology. Gartner is surveying CILT members to form the basis of what they hope to become one of the industry’s most important and influential research projects.
A similar study in the US concluded that while many organisations talk up supply chain management as being a key strategic focus, their actions suggest that they largely remain operational in their day to day activities. That study found that there was a renewed focus on cost reductions in supply chain at the expense of customer service, using supply chain to grow the business or developing process innovation.
Another observation from the US study was that complexity, variability and lack of visibility remain major barriers to success despite the investments made by companies to target these issues. This was not because the technologies were inadequate but because companies were under-utilising the applications they own.
The new CILT and Gartner research will explore the many interesting and valuable trends and practices in our supply chains. We hope that you can offer your support by participating in the survey.
As an incentive, study participants will receive free Gartner research for spending ten minutes or so completing the survey. They will have the option of a download of the following reports:
- The Gartner Top 25 Supply Chain for 2015
- Supply Chain Management Vendor Guide 2014
A summary of the survey results will be published in an issue of Focus early next year. Further information will be hosted on the relevant Sector and Forum pages on the CILT website, and a physical copy will be hosted in the CILT Knowledge Centre for reference.
Thank you we look forward to your participation.
