DP World London Gateway Logistics Park appoints new development director

14 September 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Ports, Maritime & Waterways

DP World London Gateway Logistics Park has appointed Oliver Treneman as its new Park Development Director after Graeme Clarke announced that he is retiring.

Oliver started work at the UK’s largest logistics hub last week bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in marketing and developing industrial real estate in China.

In his previous role, Oliver was Managing Director and Country Head for The Redwood Group, a specialised logistics real estate investment firm, in China and Japan. While in Asia, he became fluent in Mandarin and worked as General Manager for Shanghai Business Park Development Co Ltd and as a Senior Director of Operations for Prologis.

Over the last decade, Oliver has acquired and developed land in over a dozen Chinese cities including Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai. He has overseen build-to-suit developments in China for logistics customers such as DHL and Daimler.

Graeme, retiring as Development Director, was one of the original members of the team put together by DP World in 2007 to develop the DP World London Gateway project. In his role as Implementation Director, he helped pave the way for building Britain’s newest and most technologically advanced deep-sea port.

Over the past three years, Graeme has led the Logistics Park project in his role as Development Director.

The DP World London Gateway Logistics Park spans an area of 560 acres – equivalent to 317 football pitches – and is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

It is located just 25 miles from central London and adjacent to DP World London Gateway Port, a future-proofed, deep-sea terminal which is driving new levels of efficiency and reliability for UK supply chains.

Graeme Clarke, retiring Development Director, DP World London Gateway Logistics Park, said: “The foundation stones of this huge project are laid and it is time to hand over the reins to someone new.

“The last eight years have been challenging and at times intense. I take great pride in having been a leading player in the team that has successfully delivered this world class infrastructure asset to the UK for generations to come.”

Oliver Treneman, Development Director, DP World London Gateway Logistics Park, said: “It’s wonderful to be back in the UK after 21 years and I am very excited to be joining the team at DP World London Gateway.

“The commercial rationale for this project is so glaringly obvious to me. When first reading about it in my study in China I was immediately struck by the uniqueness of the opportunity; with its proximity to London and the pace at which both London and its population is growing, combined with the upheaval that is taking place in the retail sector, the value of this proposition is there for all to see.

“To be involved in this project is the perfect next step after an exciting 21 years in China.”

Simon Moore, CEO, DP World London Gateway Port and Logistics Park, said: “I would like to thank Graeme for his dedication and hard-work.

“As disappointing as it is to see one colleague leave, it is equally exciting to welcome Oliver to the team.

“Oliver boasts a strong record in industrial property development in China and brings a wealth of experience of that market to the continued development of DP World London Gateway’s Logistics Park.”
