UPS has expanded its global supply chain network with the addition of new warehousing space.
The distribution giant has opened a contract logistics facility at Birch Coppice near Tamworth, adding nearly 130,000 sq ft of warehousing space to its portfolio.
Situated close to the existing package sorting hub at Birch Coppice, the site offers good access to the UPS hub at East Midlands Airport.
UPS said customer growth has fuelled the need to offer more space - and Derek Irving, director of UPS Contract Logistics UK, said his firm's investment in additional facilities is a testament to its continued commitment to customers.
"We continue to expand our contract logistics reach and capabilities in the UK and Europe to serve the growing demands of our business-to-business and business-to-consumer customers," he commented.
UPS now boasts more than 500 supply chain facilities in over 120 countries, combining to more than three million sq m.
