Worldwide Express Service expanded by UPS

13 October 2015/Categories: Industry News

Package carrier UPS has announced an expansion to its Worldwide Express Service, offering early delivery guarantees for over 41,000 new postal codes.

This represents the single largest one-time expansion of the service in the entire history of the company.

UPS's Worldwide Express Service is now available in 65 countries that account for 91 per cent of global gross domestic product as a result of the move - and the bulk of the new postcodes are in the Asia Pacific region.

Vice-president of international marketing at UPS Nick Basford said he is pleased his firm has been able to expand its global footprint in this fashion.

"As international trade continues to grow and supply chains become increasingly global, businesses need guaranteed time-of-day delivery they can count on. Their success, in turn, drives global commerce and creates jobs," he commented.

The move is also expected to help facilitate growth in international trade by giving UPS clients a larger coverage area for urgent deliveries.
