New logistics health and safety training scheme planned

22 October 2015/Categories: Industry News

The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) is working in collaboration with Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) to launch a new health and safety passport training scheme for the warehousing and logistics industry.

SPA offers safety passport schemes and has already developed a range of training programmes such as Petrol Retail, Mineral Products (Quarry), Food & Drink and Live Events, Logistics Manager reports.

Under the terms of the proposal, completion of the one-day health and safety passport training scheme will earn participants an SPA Passport.

This will be produced on request by the organisation's appropriate member of staff - and there is some scope to open the initiative up to employees.

The logistics industry will be required to commit to policing the passports at site level to ensure the importance of the programme is maintained.
