O’Donovan waste disposal to sponsor CILT Public Authority Benchmarking Club

27 October 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News

In order to extend its reach with public authorities, one of London’s leading waste management companies O’Donovan Waste Disposal is sponsoring the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s (CILT) Public Authority Lean Benchmarking (Palmark) Club.

As a Gold Corporate member of the CILT, O’Donovan opted to include sponsorship of the Institute’s Palmark Club, which was launched in 2012 to enable public authority members to demonstrate the delivery of lean and efficient public services. Designed by and for its public authority members, the benchmarking enables authorities to pursue operational excellence across 12 critical business areas: Fleet; work related road safety; HR and continuous improvement; operations; risk management; passenger transport; environment; outsourcing; vehicle maintenance; procurement; purchasing and collaborative working.

O’Donovan was keen to support the ethos of the Palmark Club which aims to enable its members to benchmark their operation and measure performance against a set of relevant key performance indicators, generated by a survey of the club’s members. With an overarching aim to lead the way in operational excellence in its sector, O’Donovan’s sponsorship of the Club will provide the business with excellent interaction opportunities with other fleet management professionals, all of whom share the same goals as O’Donovan.

Managing Director Jacqueline O’Donovan said “As a FORS Gold operator, O’Donovan understands the benefits of benchmarking. As part of our FORS accreditation we constantly evaluate multiple aspects of our business to compare against industry averages. By sponsoring Palmark we are demonstrating our support for fleet management improvements across the Public Sector. Ultimately we are all operating fleets and need to collaborate at every opportunity.”

Chris Ruane, Public Authority Development Officer, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport said “Public authorities join the Palmark club in order to pursue operational excellence. The Institute and its Palmark members are delighted that O’Donovan Waste Disposal, with its award winning pedigree, is sponsoring this most worthy benchmarking club.”
