The John K Philips Group has become the latest member of the Parcelforce delivery network to add the new generation of environmentally friendly, double-deck mega-trailers to its fleet.
Two of the extra-long units are to complement the company's existing 26-strong fleet of trailers.
Up to 56 pallets can be transported by the mega-trailers, which are designed to reduce emissions, as well as reducing capacity.
One of the key features of the new trailers are the steering axles that help to reduce wear and tear on UK roads.
This is in line with a new government trial to increase load volumes, reduce congestion and slash emissions throughout the industry.
Customer service and network supervisor John Brotherton said: "These trailers will make a significant impact on our distribution operations across the UK and Europe, as well as helping the company to meet its environmental responsibilities."
