Logistics firms have raised the possibility that Cyber Monday could be a lot busier than Black Friday.
Parcel carrier Yodel explained that some people may be waiting until Cyber Monday before they explore the sales themselves.
The firm confirmed that its operations ran smoothly on Black Friday, but that it expects a busy day today (November 30th).
A spokesperson for the firm commented: "This year, pay day for many for many people will fall on Cyber Monday which may mean we see even more people waiting to make their purchases until then."
Chief executive officer of CitySprint Patrick Gallagher said that the success of Black Friday itself could lead to delivery problems over the next week.
He said the success of the day puts a strain on distribution and delivery networks that has a longer-lasting impact. As a result, some retailers will have placed caps on how many orders they are able to fulfil as same-day or next-day deliveries.
