ADPO has recently had two Toyota FDF30 forklift trucks converted into explosion proof vehicles.
The chemical logistics company had the forklift trucks adapted by Pyroban, an esteemed explosion protection company, Logistics Manager reports.
ADPO's new forklift trucks feature Pyroban's system6000D, which inhibits gas-related explosions.
Conversions that were made to the trucks include restricted breathing enclosures, stainless steel cladding for forks and surface temperature cooling.
ADPO's chemical warehouse in Antwerp is also currently benefitting from a Pelistor-based gas detection system to detect hazards in the workplace.
Pyroban has said that the detection service used in Antwerp auto-calibrates and self-starts to ensure that the solution is working correctly, ensuring optimum levels of safety.
Speaking on the new measures, Karel Stoop from ADPO said: "Safety is the number one priority across our three sites in Antwerp."
She added that the need for heightened safety is as a result of the company housing "significant volumes of flammable material" and that it won't compromise on standards of safety
