A fleet of 22 luxury buses have been unveiled in South Yorkshire, all with leather seats and USB charging points.

The double-deckers were launched at an event in Rotherham earlier this month following a £5 million investment from First.

The new vehicles, which are manufactured by Wrightbus, are all ‘low carbon certified’ by the Department for Transport – making them some of the greenest on the market.

Kevin Belfield, managing director of First South Yorkshire, said: “Our investment of over £5m in 22 new vehicles is great news for our customers.

“Passengers can enjoy pleasant, more comfortable journeys and keep connected on the move.”

Rotherham Council’s Denise Lelliott said: “I welcome First’s investment of greener, more comfortable buses.”
