National palletised distribution company Palletforce is planning to invest £20 million to extend its hub in Staffordshire.
With the planned investment, the company is aiming to have a hub with an overall space of 620,000 square feet, reports Logistics Manager.
Palletforce will be adding another 240,000 sq ft facility to another 38-acre site, which is to be adjacent to the site featuring the extension work.
Work for this second, smaller site will begin in early 2017 and it will bring the company's total spending up to £50 million.
CEO Michael Conroy said: "The superhub is a testament to our long-term investment in the business", as the company is currently celebrating its 15th year of operations.
The company has said that once the "superhub" has been built, it will be the biggest in Europe and it will aim to process over 30,000 pallets per night.
