Compass Group UK & Ireland and DHL Supply Chain have joined together to create a partnership that they believe will create waves in the foodservice market.
The new partnership will focus its target audience in the public sector, airline, rail and facilities management industries, reports Logistics Manager.
Work will be divided between the companies and will see Compass creating, sourcing, procuring and delivering menus.
Meanwhile DHL will be providing customers with end-to-end supply chain solutions and will oversee the flow of product development through the two companies and will monitor how much waste it is responsible for.
DHL will also aim to bring its years of experience in lean techniques and business analytics for the benefit of the new business and to increase its sustainability.
Andrew Barry, managing director of business and industry at Compass Group UK&I, said: "This partnership allow us to stay true to our core focus and expertise of food service, while building on DHL's strong existing customer base in the passenger gateways sector."
He continued that he hoped that the partnership would bring an excellent level of service to "current and future clients in this market".
