High-street retailer Wilko is to roll out a new voice-directed work solution thanks to an upgraded system from Voiteq.
The system from the global provider of voice solutions will be used in both of Wilko's service centres, reports Logistics Manager.
The service centres are in Nottinghamshire and Wales and cover a warehousing space of three million square feet.
Previously, Wilko had been using voice controls on multi-modal handhelds, but needed to modernise and use a device that was built specifically for voices.
The solution the retailer will be using will be Talkman A730 belt-worn computers and SRX2 headsets, which are wireless for convenience.
Implementation of the new solution has already begun in the Worksop centre in Nottingham.
Speaking on the new solution Stuart Lundy, project manager at Wilko, said: "In addition to offering a robust execution and reporting solution that will easily adapt to any future changes we make, they also demonstrated a great deal of industry knowledge, best practice and recommendations."
