The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International Knowledge Centre has been awarded the Herbert Crow Memorial Award at last night’s Carmen Transport Awards ceremony in London.

The Carmen Transport Awards, organised by the Worshipful Company of Carmen - who have for five centuries served and represented the transport industry - honour the very best in industry, the armed forces, education and individual enterprise.

The Herbert Crown Memorial Award honours achievement in transport scholarship, management systems, training, research, authorship and publication, or any other knowledge-enhancing transport activities.

The Institute’s International Knowledge Centre provides members with access to leading information from around the world in all areas of logistics, transport and the supply chain.

The CILT International Knowledge Centre contains:

The John Williams Library, based at the Institute’s Head Office in Corby, which houses the largest collection of logistics and transport resources in Europe
The Knowledge Bank, providing members a wealth of online resources
Exclusive databases to assist members with their competitive analysis
As well as a dedicated team answering queries and providing information and support to members

The Institute’s Knowledge Centre is recognised as a centre of information excellence among CILT members and by those seeking to extend their knowledge of logistics and transport related subjects.

Professor Richard Wilding OBE FCILT, CILT Chairman, who collected the award on behalf of CILT, said: ‘I am delighted that the Institute’s Knowledge Centre has been recognised as a centre for information excellence at the Carmen Transport Awards. The Knowledge Centre provides members with support and information to assist them in their careers and professional development and it is a great honour to receive the Herbert Crow Memorial Award. Access to knowledge facilitates action and innovation and the CILT Knowledge Centre enables our members to create impact within the environments they work.’
