The footpath level crossing at Wormleighton is being given extra safety measures for the benefit of both pedestrians and train passengers.
From now on the users of the crossing must use phones either side of the railway in order to gain permission to cross the busy line.
As this particular line runs between Birmingham to Marylebone, there are trains running increasingly frequently across it throughout the day.
The changes to Wormleighton pathway are part of Network Rail's national £40 billion Railway Upgrade Plan and are a result of a study that was done of the crossing earlier this year.
Findings showed that users of the path did not feel as though they had enough time to cross the line and a temporary speed restriction was put on trains until the solution of the phones was found.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "We will be monitoring the crossing during a two-week trial to see if pedestrians are using the crossing correctly before making a final decision about removing the speed restrictions on the line."
